Currency Investment

Currency investment, is one of the most lucrative investment mediums you can take part in and global currency trading is the worlds biggest business, with trillions of dollars exchanged each day. Currency investment, offers unique advantages and challenges which we will look at in this article.

The advantages of currency trading online include the following:

  • There is never a bear market, as one currency falls another must rise which means there are profit opportunities everyday.

  • Currencies are volatile and trend for long periods of time in a sustained direction which can be turned into profit.

  • Currencies are liquid and transaction costs are low, meaning you get to keep more of your profits

  • You can leverage your investment by 300:1 or more, this means that by just leveraging by 100:1 leverage you can put down a $100.00 and trade $10,000 – profits and losses are therefore magnified.

Many people don't see currency trading as an investment but as pure speculation, so what really is the difference between the two?

The answer is there isn't one! The aim of both, is to make money and the reason why currency investment is not seen by many as a “proper investment” is due to it's reputation as a high – risk investment. The fact is though currency trading can be low or high risk, depending on the leverage you use and just because your Forex broker gives you 300:1 in terms of leverage, doesn't mean you have to use it all.

Over leverage kills more accounts, than any other single reason and with regard to FX brokers giving you 300:1 leverage, don't think this is them being generous, it actually makes good business practice. The reason why is:

Most brokers are market makers and trade against you; in simple terms if your currency trading strategy losses, your broker puts the money in his pocket. A broker knows if you give a new Currency trader enough rope ( leverage) he will hang himself and in most instances he does.

If you want to be a currency investor and win, do not over leverage! When you start trading use no leverage and even for experienced traders 10:20 is plenty. Currency investment can be very lucrative but treat the markets with respect and don't over leverage your positions at anytime.

Global currency trading is a learned skill and you can become a currency trader from home with just a few weeks study and you can soon be making a great second income in just 30 minutes a day.
